FC Schalke ’04 (S04 for short) is a professional football club from the area called Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. It is still considered one of the top clubs in Germany, although its most glorious past is long gone. Not many people know this, but Schalke is not just a football club.
The club hosts many sports, such as handball, table tennis and even esports. In total, the club has 158,000 members, making it one of the largest sports clubs in the country. There is a great rivalry with Borussia Dortmund; the Kohlenpott Derby is the biggest derby in Germany!
