Funplus Phoenix vs Chaos ESC CS:GO Flashpoint

Oh boy, talking about embarrassing entrances. The well known organization FPX, a long time League of Legends team is bursting with the scene of Counter Strike Global Offensive this season. And that is great for Counter Strike, as more teams joining means a higher level overall.

Oh boy, talking about embarrassing entrances. The well known organization FPX, a long time League of Legends team is bursting with the scene of Counter Strike Global Offensive this season. And that is great for Counter Strike, as more teams joining means a higher level overall. But then pandora’s box opened up and contracts were off, players left, deals were undone. And suddenly on stream while in a match on Flashpoint there is the news of FPX signing Swole Patrol. Then suddenly this does not appear to be true and instead Bad News Bears fills the roster. It is hardly a surprise since BNB are on the low end and would sign almost anything (we still fans though).

Unsurprisingly, the results thus far at Flashpoint by Funplus Phoenix aren’t all that. Losing 3 out 3. Chaos ESC has not been doing a whole lot better with 1 win out 3, despite not having the chaos that FPX has. The bookmakers, including us, are really undecided on who to favour in this match. Which always means there are chances for the players!

Talking CS:GO Flashpoint

For those who do not know, Flashpoint 1 is the inaugural season of the new Counter-Strike organization-owned league. Hosted by big names such as Cloud9 and Immortals Gaming Club. The competition is between 8 permanent members, supplemented with 4 qualified teams competing over a $1,000,000 prize pool. As stated above, this league’s edition also coincided with FunPlus Phoenix entering Counter-Strike.

Due to the global corona outbreak, The season’s finals that were originally planned in Stockholm, are now moved entirely to the FACEIT Studio in Los Angeles. It didn’t take long for the rest of the league to also migrate entirely online for the rest of the first phase. We don’t expect much to change about these circumstances for this tournament, and expect to see a lot of online play in the near future.
